Nestled in Darling Square’s vibrant street-food precinct, Tsukiyo occupies a compact space that thrives on high pedestrian traffic and evening footfall.

Trinity Shopfitting teamed with Span Design Studio to introduce a slice of Osaka’s neon-drenched Dotonbori culture to Sydney through an immersive, compact street-food concept.

Design Approach

We combined vivid neon signage and reflective acrylic panels with textured timber-slat accents to evoke the bustling energy of Dotonbori’s laneways. A backlit terrazzo counter and hygienic stainless-steel worktops ensure cleanliness and durability, while a streamlined open-counter layout fosters direct engagement between staff and diners. Discreet LED downlights accent key features without overwhelming the visual drama, and hidden service corridors maintain seamless behind-the-scenes flow.

Tsukiyo Darling Square has swiftly become a Darling Square landmark. Its authentic neon-lit theatre, efficient service model and distinctive aesthetic have driven foot traffic, elevated brand presence and set a benchmark for compact, experiential street-food venues.
